Effective September 4, 2026What PDFs work today?
The free Fill PDFs intake supports 1–5 blank digital PDFs containing selectable text or existing fillable fields. Password-protected, corrupted, XFA, and signed forms remain unsupported. Paid cloud OCR for blank scanned and image-only forms is being prepared for a controlled beta and remains unavailable until the workspace explicitly offers it.
Merge and organize PDFs
Merge & organize works with digital and scanned PDFs locally in your browser. Select up to 100 pages across 20 documents, reorder or rotate pages, and download one PDF. Standard fields remain editable. Complex forms may require explicit flattening, which preserves their visible appearance but removes fields and interactive behavior. New copies do not preserve valid digital signatures, bookmarks, attachments, or scripts. Page selection is not secure redaction.
What leaves my browser?
Free digital-PDF processing keeps PDF bytes and answers local. Extracted form metadata—including labels, headings, positions, form structure, inferred titles, and opaque hashes—may be sent to the API and, when necessary, OpenAI for matching. Paid cloud OCR clearly asks whether to upload rendered page images or the original PDF before reserving credits. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The Analyze button is disabled
Add at least one supported PDF and finish the Cloudflare human-verification check. If verification does not appear or expires, disable aggressive content blocking for FormFold, confirm JavaScript is enabled, and reload the page.
My form was rejected
FormFold stops when a file type is unsupported or matching confidence is too low. Cloud OCR also rejects detected handwriting or completed forms and returns the reserved credits. Try a clean, blank copy downloaded from the original publisher.
The completed PDF looks wrong
Review every preview before downloading or submitting it. If text is misplaced or a field is incorrect, do not use that output. Return to the start and try a cleaner source form.
The ZIP did not download
Keep the tab open during generation, allow downloads for FormFold, check the browser’s download panel, and make sure the device has available storage. Your generated bundle is not recoverable from the server.
